deviantART is a popular online artistic community. It aims to provide a place for any artist, photographer, or writer to exhibit and discuss his or her works.
It also provides a community of like-minded individuals and is visited by 1.5 million individuals per day who view 35 million pages (per day).
As of January 2007 the site consists of over 3.5 million users and over 30 million submissions, and receives around 50,000 submissions per day.

The pen makes you think differently from the keyboard.
It imposes a rigour and brevity which keys cannot.
Compare, for example, any civil service email of today
to well-crafted hand-written memo:
